Welcome to the 2016 -2017 school year. The staff of Elko Middle School is excited to start the school year. Our school theme is “The Blueprint for Success: Respect, Responsibility and Safety…Learning is the Only Option!
Elko Middle School is committed to preparing our students to problem solve, critically think, and overcome challenges in order to be successful in high school and beyond. This school year we are focusing on literacy and math. Students will read and write daily in English classes and use critical thinking and problem solving in math classes.
To encourage reading, we are challenging our students to read 3,600 books by the end of the school year! There are no doubts that our students will achieve this goal. This is an average of four books per student. We are looking forward to the curriculum nights, where students will show case their work to share with parents and our community.
We are looking forward to meeting our parents and extended families at our school events and activities. For our parents, we have established the Very Engaged Parent Program. We want to recognize our parents for supporting and attending school related events. Thank you for your continued support of your child and of Elko.
We look forward to a successful school year!
