| MISSION Elko Middle School is a comprehensive middle school in Henrico County Public Schools. We aim to inspire educational excellence among all students in their journey from middle to high school. To achieve our goal, Elko will increase the percentage of students demonstrating proficiency in grade-level content by 10% in ELA, Math, & Science. Elko Middle School will maintain a Chronic Absenteeism rate below 15%. VISION Elko Middle School will soar from good to great by inspiring educational excellence among all students. CELL PHONE POLICY 2024-25 | Cellular Phones and Electronic Devices HCPS & Elko Middle School recognizes that student access to cell phones, smart watches with cellular service or Wi-Fi, and other electronic devices is common in 21st Century society; however, it is imperative that students and parents/guardians understand that there are appropriate and inappropriate times for the use of such devices. SCHOOL LUNCHES & FOOD DELVIVEIES FOR STUDENTS | Breakfast and lunch are prepared daily for students. These meals are free to all students. Food deliveries for students will not be allowed this year. Deliveries via Uber, Instacart, etc., will be returned to the sender. Parents or Guardians cannot drop off food from outside vendors (McDonald's, Chic Fil A, etc.) to students at any time during the school day. |
CLINIC UPDATES | The clinic will be open August 12 – 16, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please bring in any medications, medical supplies, or doctor’s orders/notes your student will need for the school year. Contact Nurse Barrett at klbarrett@henrico.k12.va.us if you have any further questions. |
ALLERGIES | Please be mindful of the foods that students bring to school. Many students have allergies to nuts, shellfish, and other foods. |

BELL SCHEDULE | School Begins at 8:05 and ends at 3:15 pm. Please ensure you do not drop off your student before 8 am. EARLY DISMISSALS: Our early dismissal cut off time is 2:30 pm. Students will not be called out of class after this time but may be notified that they are a car rider. Car riders are dismissed at 3:15 following the afternoon announcements.
