MISSION Elko Middle School is a comprehensive middle school in Henrico County Public Schools. We aim to inspire educational excellence among all students in their journey from middle to high school. To achieve our goal, Elko will increase the percentage of students demonstrating proficiency in grade-level content by 10% in ELA, Math, & Science. COUNSELOR'S CORNER | Curriculum Fair Elko’s Curriculum Fair will be held during the school day this year. On Tuesday, December 3rd, 6th and 7th grade students will have the opportunity to visit multiple elective classes to learn about the class Elko Learning Lab Learning Lab is a chance for students to receive in person help for classes that they are struggling with. The Learning Lab will start on Tuesday, November 12th. It will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays either before school (7-8am) or after school (3:30 to 4:30pm). COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITIES (ELKO AND SANDSTON COMMUNITIES) | HENRICO COMMUNITY FOOD BANK PARTNERSHIPAs the winter break approaches, Henrico County Public Schools is working to ensure that our most vulnerable students and families have access to quality food for meals through the annual Winter Food Distribution event. Details of the Program: A partnership with the Henrico Community Food Bank has been developed to provide 500 families with supplemental food products during our Distribution Day on December 21st. Registration Form: Families can request a supplemental food package by completing a Google form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSePKfHFE9NlxlPhenFEQ1xsbTR9k2qg1FONbYbGKLIzlFTnPQ/viewform that will be made available from November 19th to November 26th, or until the maximum number of requests is reached. A flier will be distributed to schools, and it is requested that each school share it with their respective communities through newsletters, Parent Square, and other communication methods. Distribution Day: A district-wide Distribution Day will take place on December 21st at the ACE Center-Hermitage from11am to 1pm. More details will be shared via a district-wide media blast in the coming weeks. |
