THE THEME FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR:

MISSION imPOSSIBLE

ACADEMICS

Eagles,

As the flowers begin to bloom and we transition into the final stretch of the school year, we want to welcome you to the start of the 4th Quarter. This is a pivotal time for our students to finish strong, and we appreciate your continued partnership in their academic journey.

To ensure a successful finish to the year, please review the following important updates and reminders:

Academic Accountability

With the 3rd Quarter behind us, it is imperative that students and parents review grades weekly via PowerSchool.

Communication is Key: If you notice that grades are not being updated on a weekly basis, please reach out to the teacher directly.

Support: If you are unable to reach the teacher after an initial attempt, please contact your student’s grade-level administrator for assistance.

Elko Innovative Learning Lab

Need a quiet place to catch up on classwork or get ahead on homework? The Learning Lab is here to help!

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Times: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM & 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Transportation: Please note that transportation is not provided.

Afternoon Pickup: Parents must pick up students promptly by 4:30 PM. To ensure the safety and supervision of all students, any student picked up late more than twice will unfortunately no longer be able to attend the lab sessions.

Contact Dr. Swingen for registration: jkswingen@henrico.k12.va.us.

Laptop Care & Responsibility

We have seen a significant increase in laptop repair needs recently. While we are happy to facilitate repairs, we need your help in reinforcing the importance of device stewardship.

Maintenance: It is the student’s responsibility to maintain the upkeep of their issued laptop.

Fees: Please be aware that repairs for cracked screens or significant damage carry a $50 fee.

Chargers: Our stock of replacement chargers is depleting rapidly. Please help your student keep track of their equipment so we can make our current inventory last through the end of the year.

Our mission of excellence would not be possible without the unwavering support of our Elko families. Thank you for helping us keep our students focused, prepared, and ready to succeed.
